New KU startup producing proteins
The following information was released by the Channel 6 Lawrence.
A new University of Kansas startup is in the protein producing business. KanPro Research Inc. makes proteins, just like the ones our bodies need every day, for life science, biotechnology, and medical research. The company develops proteins that are difficult to find in nature so clients can get them quicker and easier. It takes KanPro five days to build proteins from bacteria. Right now, KanPro has two employees but they hope to expand the company to five to 10 employees by 2017. KanPro is located in the Bioscience & Technology Business Center Main Facility on KU's west campus.
